Fractal visualization in the AlloSphere

Fractal is a real-time, interactive immersive renderer that drops visitors inside the 4D Mandelbrot set. Fractals abound in nature — pinecones, snowflakes, river networks, leaf veins — repeating patterns in which every part resembles the whole.

Using custom immersive ray casting, the piece lets you navigate that infinite, self-similar complexity and explore the beauty of higher-dimensional worlds. It was one of three immersive works the AlloSphere group presented at TED 2024 in Vancouver.
